THE NUTSHELL.
Masonry book leaf, random rubble walling, rock walling, cladding and random cut walling - these are the techniques of the trade. We commonly know them as stonemasonry and boy do we love this look here in WA.
Working regularly for the likes of Zorzi, Giorgi & TDL, and sourcing locally through Eco Outdoor, Mataka Stone Andy Smith and his team could really underpin a full open house event in Perth of their very own. With homes scattered all over the metro area and along the coast, there’s bound to many a stone wall passed that was meticulously built by these master craftsman.
The mad skills all started back in 1985 [ let me help, that was 37 years ago - hence MASTER CRAFTSMAN ] back in the old country working on many royal listed and heritage buildings in London.
In 2002 he moved over to Perth and formed his own company Andy Smith Stonemasons. Since here in the west we are not exactly ‘flush’ with royal listed buildings to restore [ although they offer heritage restoration too ], Andy got busy making our residential walls look the business instead.
