Season 8 Episode 5 : Reason's Why It's Easier To Promote Your Brand When Business Is Booming

When we pull together the content for Design Banter, we like to ensure we are really listening to those who take the time to listen to us.

There is one big hurdle that many in the design industry are facing right now, and that is time…time to do all the things needed to maintain a successful business. One of the most necessary hats we must all wear is that of ‘in-house’ marketer yet it’s the least attractive element of being in business right now for those barely able to get through their days - but try you must.

In today’s episode, I took the helm and created a Masterclass that speaks directly to those currently riding their most successful financial year on record, but potentially not the most successful business year on record. As the old saying goes after feasting comes a famine, and at some point, the glut of work is going to slow down.

‘The reasons why it’s easier to promote your brand when business is booming’ episode considers (in no particular order) :

  1. Money. How to use it to your advantage now you have it (advertising) and whether you need to assess the workflow to adjust your pricing points

  2. Repurposing your already high price tag content (remember all those dollars you paid that photographer) and using it to create content on different channels (not everything should be about Instagram in isolation)

  3. Email list, communications and how to use it with integrity (not solicitation or by dangling carrots)

  4. Scaling, new hires, team growth

  5. Business Planning + Strategy for 2022

  6. Online services. Should you or shouldn’t you?

The goal across all of these talking points of course is to have to you take away at least one thing and implement, but also to facilitate the softening of your typical business ebb and flow. Why suffer the severity of ups and downs in demand when you may be able to give them soft curves instead? Feel free to leave a comment below after listening. What you share could also help benefit another business owner.

As always we’d like to encourage of all you to SUBSCRIBE to our podcast via Apple podcasts and ensure you subscribe.

In 2022 my new personal website Deb Whincop will launch officially - it’s called DEB. which stands for Designers Emergency Business tools and templates. Love me a play on words. It’s been created to assist more of you with the goings on in business and I very much look forward to sharing what I have to roll out.

In the meantime, if I can help, just reach out.

Deb xx
