This is Ash, and between you and I, Ash just may be the new normal you’ve been looking for.
Having worked in visual merchandising (makes you buy things because she styled them super well) and retail space for 18 years, Ash has progressively turned her hand to Interior Decorating - the art of creating an intimate and tailored interior space through the use of furniture, artwork, paint colours, rugs, wallpaper, lighting - all the decorative elements without shifting walls or demolishing existing structures.
Now, this is a skill set that many an Interior Designer can also perform, but they don’t necessarily specialise. Ash does. An Interior Decorator (not be confused with a painter) is the OG of bespoke interior styling and Selene Interiors is one of the true businesses in Perth that is passionate about that service.
Quite often, the brief is simple - “transform my space”! You’d be surprised just how many homes are lacking in function purely because the balance and selection of furniture and artwork are completely out of whack! Bad perspectives create massive disharmony in a space and draw the eye in confusing directions as well as increasing poor decisions when it comes to what goes where and what it’s supposed to do.
The beauty of an Interior Decorator is that they are specialists in making your space work without needing to demolish and they are worth their weight in fees because when you live in a space for long enough you start to get used to the bad habits within them.
