Season 7 Episode 6 : Kristie Castagna returns to discuss her new build Fairfield Lane

Well, here we are - bringing you the very last episode of this season’s Design Banter and it’s a limited edition ! Why? Because the original gangster Kristie Castagna (formerly ‘Elements at Home’) is back! And not only is this expert interior designer embarking on her 14th new build, we get to hear all about her first hand experiences and tips that she has learned differently along the way - because this laneway build required a mandatory 8 star rating and pushed the design and budget considerably to meet the challenge.

You may remember Kristie from seasons past imparting her learned ways into some of our most well received episodes. When Kristie had to take a step back to focus on this new build and all that came with those early stages I knew it would be a hard spot to fill. Both Andrea and I were pumped to be able to bring Kristie back to join us for this season finale and if any you know Kristie, you’ll also know it that this episode is probably the epitome of what Design Banter is here to do - talk !

Let’s get into it. Here are the some of the highlights of Season 7 Episode 6 of Design Banter:

- Why did they choose a parcel of land down a laneway?

- What are the considerations needed when having to meet an 8 star rating?

- What has been the process in terms of offsets required to meet those requirements?

- What can we expect to see design wise from this little house that could?

- Where were the big compromises made?

and so much more.

As this is the very last episode of what has been an epic season and perfectly timed to be your ‘lockdown’ go-to, we’d love very much if you could please head over to Apple Podcasts and leave us a review. This is how the poddy gods rate us, and seeing as you are all so generous with your DM’s, we’d love to ask this small favour to ensure our ‘show’ can go from strength to strength.
