One of Perth’s most respected custom home builders, Oswald Homes, have recently opened their doors to ‘The Odyssea’, their new display home in the Perth costal suburb of City Beach.

I’m not sure why I was so taken aback by this home? Oswald Homes are steeped in decades of experience across the Perth building industry and are the flagship brand of JWH Group, one of WA’s biggest building groups - but I was not expecting this.
Inspired by the generous homes in the South West of Western Australia, this part beachy, part farmhouse, part contemporary coastal home is one for the ages. You are immediately in awe of the endless natural light that pours into this home as soon as you step foot inside the space.
TURN RIGHT.
The living, dining, kitchen seemingly boundless due to the enviable heights of that gabled ceiling; connecting front to back all the way out to the verandah. This is coastal ‘flow’ at it’s finest.
IN PAST THE READING NOOK.
Prepare to sweep through the sophisticated master bedroom and glide through the ‘mirrored’ built in robe, straight into the most gorgeous master ensuite. The pool is just outside this window!

BACK INTO THE KITCHEN.
Rounded edges, textural splash back [ Tiles Expo ], a raw natural palette and a scullery running parallel; this modern kitchen gives you ample room to gather, make, bake and relax all in one. And nothing says ‘balmy ocean breeze’ better than end to end sheers [ by Decor Blinds and Curtains ].
FOR THE AGES.
The ‘you do you’ room. The place for both quiet moments, or shared ‘breakout’. A glance to your right (you’re on the sofa) is the gabled alfresco, maybe you want to go sit out there and contemplate a splash in the pool? No rules here!
SHE’S A LADY.
Pretty but not ‘polly’, this gorgeously balanced teen girls room, features a wallpapered ceiling, and coveted hanging chair to while the weekends away. The ensuite is right behind us.
BED AND BREAKFAST.
Spoilt with poolside views and situated toward the back of the home; this ‘home away from home’ features it’s own built in kitchenette and to the right, another private ensuite. Who’s leaving? Not your guests that’s for sure!
GARDEN PARTY.
White roof lines, and warm timber accents, extend that coastal hug all the way out to the alfresco and beyond, and as you get that sense of the South West inspired touches (pass the wine), you also feel very Perth and very grateful. Dip the toe!
