Season 7 Episode 4 : Your Fees As An Interior Designer With Jane Ledger Interiors.

Fees and money. Two words that can make your toes curl, but in the world of interior design, with so many variations on offer, it’s important to have a discussion around what it costs to hire a designer and how, if you are in the industry, you can look to structuring your own charges.

It is a personal choice on how any designer sets their structure. It is based on past project experience, expertise and an astute tuning of skill. What we don’t want to shy away from is having the confidence to move forward with charging appropriately. We hope this episode assist in that being the case.

In this week’s episode we have the total pleasure of talking with Jane Ledger of Jane Ledger Interiors. A Perth based Interior Designer and formidable businesswoman, we unpack the process that Jane herself applied to running her small business here in WA. This is one of those ‘pulling back the curtains’ episodes and one both Andrea and I have looked forward to having.

Jane is someone we have both known personally for years and one the areas we both share the utmost respect for Jane is in her ability to capture her own value.

Some of the key takeaways you will be able to walk away with include :

  • understanding how to structure your fess

  • understanding your responsibilities as a designer

  • managing that special relationship

  • clearly articulating your value

  • potential red flags and;

  • so much more!

I don’t to add all the spoilers here - we want you to ACTUALLY LISTEN! So go now, put 50 minutes aside to level up on your own understanding of how to price yourself correctly and please, come back with your feedback.

We’ll be back next week to bring your more Design Banter and another expert in the industry but who I wonder will it be? In the meantime, our podcasts are best served VIP so subscribe to Apple Podcasts and as always you are encouraged to show your support by giving us a review.
