Experience The Tasty Interiors Of Perth Hospitality Worth Leaving The House For.

The Tasty Interiors Of Perth Hospitality Designed With You In Mind

Picture this - we’re nearing the peak of omicron cases here in WA and you fancy breakfast out with the fam or lunch with friends but something’s holding you back… ** looks in mirror - remembers this is now daily life here in Perth ** Yes. Life looks different right now. But you have two options and the hermit life is no where near as fun as the pirate life but more on that later.

Now; I could fill your ‘feed’ (he, he, there are some good morsels coming your way) with stories of how the hospitality industry is suffering and how you must dig deeper and continue to support local - but instead I’m going to give you a little something different to chew on (caution : this may contain nuts), or consider rather.

Most of you are probably thinking - I have already supported local ! In fact, you have likely supported local more times in the last 2 years than you have in your entire lifetime. How bloody good is that ? So I don’t think you need reminding that ‘local is life’. You invented the experience…and that’s exactly what I want you to keep in mind; the EXPERIENCE. Because if you are wanting to poke your head out of a sheet of paper without tearing a hole [ metaphor for “wants to go out but is nervous of omicron“ ] then I’m here to get you pumped about how you do that [ also though, poking your head through a bit of paper without tearing it is as unlikely as not coming into contact with this dreaded thing at some point and equally as futile….IMO ].

Staunch regulars will tell you, they go where they are appreciated. If you don’t want to go out as regularly, that’s actually OK, these are challenging times for us all, but when you go to enjoy the experience, even a humble coffee run can deliver the goods when you think how many places actually serve shit coffee ? Sometimes, it’s not even about the cuppa Joe.

To me, every good experience starts with how you FEEL when you visit a venue.

Ever wonder why the little details in the interior design of a restaurant or cafe makes you feel like you want to take your own picture on your phone and share it with thousands of people you’ve never met [ me neither, I suck at a selfie ] ? It sounds crazy really but that kind of endorsement is worth big kahuna’s in some circles and yet we all feel compelled to take photo’s of the interiors, the furnishings [ well I do ] and of course the food because it made us feel so good about ourselves. #gooddesign can do that.

From the fireplaces with blackened stonemasonry, terrazzo tables, the leather banquette seating that feels luxurious yet somehow nostalgic at the same time, from mid-century, modern, coastal to inner-city and urban designs; all facets from when you first walk in the door, to when you leave were conceived to make you want to stay right where you are.

That’s no fluke but rather the deft touch of the Perth architects and designers who spend hours crafting the ultimate experience for you, even if it is just so you can get your morning coffee and feel great doing so.

All the great design magazines, blogs and platforms lend heavily into residential design with commercial design I feel not always getting quite as much exposure or kudos as it deserves (food blogs aside), so I want you to consider when you do venture out the thought, planning, and execution that took place prior…because great food, chefs, coffee, and wine are all things that every venue should be able to do better than we do ourselves, that’s why we pay money to go out - but not every venue has the ability to make you feel like they understand you. This is their secret sauce.

My ‘tip’ is that we all continue to seek simple experiences and enjoy the little things in life. Be it a new coffee shop or old haunt. Keep your event just conceive it purposefully. Go out less sure if that’s what you need, but go out well. Put yourselves first for a second. Don’t worry if you’re pulling your end of the bargain by supporting local, that’s a contract you entered long ago anyway - instead; ‘go out to go out’, and let these venues do what they do well.

** caveat - anyone with auto-immune disorders, in remission or with underlying health conditions - please continue to do you **
